Over the past two decades, the urban landscapes in Thailand have undergone dramatic changes, epitomized by the case of Bangkok, which has grown from a medium-sized capital city into a megalopolis. In this metamorphosis, Architects 49, founded in 1983, has played a considerable role from the very beginning, by the sheer volume of the firm's achievements. Architects 49, a rather large-scale firm, has for almost twenty years been involved in a wide range of projects, varying in types and sizes, comprising individual dwellings, golf clubs, small, medium-sized and tall office buildings, commercial centers, museums, stadiums, university faculty complexes, etc. Nithi Sthapitanonda, president and founder of Architects 49 has lead the firm to win several gold medals for best architectural design from the Association of Siamese Architects.
