This is the story of two men-one white, one black-both born and raised outside Amsterdam, who find themselves drawn to the city. They overcome obstacles that would have kept many people apart: difference in ethic, cultural and social background, in age, in personality and in views and convictions. And they manage to rise above themselves, creating an union that is succesfull. both in private and in business. Pursuing their dreams however comes to an abrupt stop. It is a story of love, affection, hate, distrust and living as gay businessmen in Amsterdam. It is also a story of liberation, hope and reflection. The first copy of the Dutch edition of this book was presented to HRH Princess Margriet of the Netherlands, President of the International Red Cross. The book was highly acclaimed in the Dutch press.
