The larger sizes have provided Henneman with a new overview of his own work and method. Unlike a draughtsman, a painter at work occasionally takes a step back to look at his work from a distance and assess it. It is this literal distance that has broadened the scope of Hennemans's work over the past few years. Surrounded by all those things in his studio and house, he nevertheless managed to steer clear of anecdotal incidents.
